Advancing Parliamentary Procedure Education for the Digital Age
Advancing Parliamentary Procedure Education for the Digital Age
Beginning August 10, 2025, the Kanuni Unit ParliEducation Program will kick off a three-part series aimed at helping officers, committee chairs, and members learn how to keep business moving, communicate effectively, and navigate motions with precision—every time they step into a meeting. The series is titled:
"Master the Meeting: An Education Series for Parliamentary Proficiency"
Take control of the gavel, the agenda, and the outcome! Mastering the Meeting... is designed to transform the way you preside, participate, and perform in deliberative assemblies. From understanding your role as a presiding officer or committee chair, and speaking the precise language of Robert’s Rules, to applying your knowledge in a realistic meeting scenario, this series gives you the tools, techniques, and confidence to run meetings that are fair, efficient, and orderly.
August 10, 2025 | 6 PM (CDT)
Facilitated by: Fashika Willis, PRP
This workshop will emphasize the necessity of knowing, understanding, and preparing for the role and duties of presiding officers of assemblies and committees.

Moderated by: Crystal Renā Thomas, PRP
and Fashika Willis McClelland, PRP
Get ready to bring order to [mock] meeting madness! Motion Commotion is a dynamic, hands-on session that walks you through a simulated meeting and puts parliamentary procedure into practice.
Regular Meetings
The Kanuni Unit meets every month on the 2nd Sunday at 6 pm (CT). Our meetings are held virtually via Google Meet, and members and guests are encouraged to join 30 minutes early for our Parliamentary Problem Clinic.
What is the Parliamentary Problem Clinic?
The problem clinic is a brief, interactive session designed to strengthen your parliamentary skills by working through real-life scenarios or challenges you may have encountered in organizational or client meetings. It’s a great opportunity to build confidence, ask questions, and sharpen your understanding of parliamentary procedure in a relaxed, supportive environment.
